Our guest today is Nicole Gregory, the author of Desert Missionary: A Novel Based on the Life of Father Eusebio Kino. This Jesuit missionary born in 1645 in what is now northern Italy, became a geographer, a cartographer and an astronomer. In the last quarter of his life he explored Mexico and the southwestern U.S. where he proved that Baja, California, is a peninsula and not an island.
